Cirque du Freak: The Vampire's Assistant

I wanted to re explore this after so long and wow... it’s worse than I remember. There’s a lot that’s just squeezed in, rushed and not flushed out at all. The lead actor is terrible, it’s no wonder he left film for politics, he delivers every line the same and shows no emotion. The writing and direction are terrible and choppy. And what’s worse, I was bored throughout most of it.
Some of the visuals are nice and Josh Hutcherson…

  • Boo! A Madea Halloween

    Boo! A Madea Halloween

I feel like this could’ve been in the same vein as the scary movie franchise, spoofing popular titles with its title character but instead, Tyler Perry doesn’t know what he has with this character. He tries too hard to make it an “impactful” movie to the point where it comes off as pretentious. There also scenes that last way too long, and the comedic bite here doesn’t make up for it.

  • The Tax Collector

    The Tax Collector

    Oh wow
Talk about a disappointment. I am a massive Show LaBeouf fan but even he can’t save this thing. The screenplay is absolutely terrible, lines feel like they were written by a high schooler. The camera work is horrible, I couldn’t even tell who was winning in a fight it was so bad. Music choices were all over the place. And there’s a weird flashback to an earlier scene that didn’t feel significant at all. I really wanted to like this, and the cast do their best, but it’s a dumpster fire.

  • Jigsaw

Slight improvement over some of the saw sequels, though it’s finale twist isn’t worth it and it suffers from being predictable.
