Mockingjack’s review published on Letterboxd:
I think Xavier Dolan is a solid director, as well as lead performer. His eye for both character and setting are really delightful, and his command of sexuality is really admirable. The whole ensemble is really on point, and the chemistry is off the charts. What I was slightly missing, was a satisfying arch. It felt like a lot to dive into to not get a more concrete ending. While I do feel the sexuality struggle is accurate, the characters still feel like they could’ve had more to say. That being said, the contrasts between them were nicely done and their experience is relatable. I just wish the story could’ve taken one more evolutionary step in its developments.
