    What Drives Us

    ★★★

What Drives Us is a collection of stories from world famous musicians, genre defining legends, and up and coming stars reliving the days where they toured, and essentially lived, in a van.

For fans of the bands, mostly alt rock and punk, there’s a lot to enjoy.  Those looking for more may be disappointed.  While the documentary does go into deeper territory at times, mostly in DH from Dead Kennedy’s stories of addiction, the majority of the film’s stories are…

    ★★★½

Excellent acting, Fincher’s precision and attention to detail, “backstage musical” etc. etc.

I don’t want to talk about what was good about this movie, I want to talk about what I didn’t like.  The whole thing had a bit of an arrogant Hollywood film snob elitist patting themselves on the back feeling that didn’t sit well with me.  And I tend to like a lot of snobby films but this one rubbed me the wrong way in that sense.…
