I am now 100% certain I'm not a Clive Barker fan.
As a cinema studies major and a lifelong student of film, I am well-versed with how some movies can be complicated, nuanced, and cerebral while still being enjoyable.
This is not that movie.
It's a bunch of pretentious, bleak drivel. If Whit Stillman tried to make a French New Wave movie based on Mad Libs, this would be it. It's bleak for no reason, strange for no reason, and purposefully obscure, and it's all of those things under the guise of being "deep." I genuinely don't understand the hype.
