  The Whale 2022

  When we treat one another humanely, interact with compassion, and make the choice to be vulnerable, we are at our best. The Whale appreciates the near-godliness humankind is capable of while acknowledging the cruelty we inflict upon one another, sometimes in the name of religion. It’s tough to reckon with the disgust we feel when we see true suffering. Some turn that repulsion into rage, some into art.

  This didn’t work for everyone, but it worked for me. Holy shit.

  If this film did anything good, it reminded us that “daddy” in a sexual context is always repulsive.
