Murphy Kenefick’s review published on Letterboxd:
Nothing short of magic.
Featuring one of the most empathetic central characters in recent memory, Moonlight is the rarely successful balance of subtlety and satisfaction, deliberately focusing on the most illuminating details and ideas. Each performance is so authentic and captivating, never drifting into superficial, but always packing a punch rich with raw emotion. It all functions with just the right amount of edge, but not too much to where it doesn't work as a compelling story.
The score, the shots, the screenplay are all so incredibly memorable; every moment is personal. In short, it's a beautiful piece of film that should make its way all the way to the Oscars.
