Mitchell Fleming’s review published on Letterboxd:
It's a common complaint but my God, Kate Capshaw can be irritating in this. The privileged character trait could've worked if it wasn't overplayed and made the focus of so much different scenes, only for their to be no real arc for Willie by the movie's end.
Still, there's a lot of great things about this film and I've always gotten a lot of enjoyment from the action scenes and its successful attempt to be darker than Raiders. Seriously, Spielberg's talent can be seen in him being able to include a musical number, a gangster shootout and a plane crash in the first twenty minutes of this film in a way that works and doesn't feel at all messy.
