The entire “killing an image” passage of this film is so incredibly powerful. Equal parts beautiful and mortifying - there’s nothing more upsetting than seeing such a halt in the gears of progress. It’s been decades since this film came out and it could not be more timely and meaningful in the present day. Typically, that would be an impressive feat but here it is a harsh truth.
