old timey horror can be so satisfying to watch and comforting in its familiarity. beautifully lit black and white cinematography. bats. fog. women walking in the night in their beautiful gowns. vampires vaporising into smoke. all the best ingredients with a nice twist thrown in this one too
would have likely turned this off had it not been for katharine isabelle because the dialogue is really obnoxious, especially in the beginning. it does get somewhat better though. it helps that there’s an interesting idea at the core even though it has a so-so leaning towards poor execution, the kills and gore are well done and most important of all, there’s lesbian katharine isabelle!
