Really not into this! Dominik is obviously still an unparalleled image-maker and Ana De Armas lends a genuinely vivid and incredible performance to a film that is largely a numbing tiring miserabilist bore. It's a manic horror film about the cyclical regurgitative terror of abuse and fame that manages to lend such little actual spirit or value to its content. I don't believe this film to really be at all worth the amount of hand-wringing/pearl-clutching I've seen going on. It's explicit but worst of all, it's just empty.
