Persepolis 2007
What a life this woman has had. It's horrible to think about that she is somehow one of the lucky one's.
I love how she doesn't hide the fact that she was kind of an evil child. But at the same time, she learned a lot from listening to adults who didn't really consider that a lot of what they were talking about, wasn't really appropriate for a child. While the pacing was bit of a mess at times, there wasn't any point where I wasn't engaged. I'm definitely going to get the actual graphic novel one day to get the full story.

Flee 2021
The last 15 minutes if Flee had me bawling my eyes out like a baby. The first documentary to ever do that for me. Goes to show what a fucking brilliant movie this is. The use of animation works perfectly to both hide Amin's identity and show what his life was like when there isn't any footage. I love it so much. I'm going to be rooting hard for it during the Oscar ceremony, even though it will inevitably lose to Encanto as best animated feature and Drive my car for best international feature.

The perfect "dad movie" indeed. My dad really enjoyed it.
I was sceptical as to why this movie was nominated for so many Oscars, but I get it now. It's definitely not best picture, but the cinematography, the editing and of course the sound... My god. And I can't forget the performances from Damon and Bale. Christian Bale really shows what he's capable of here. Just a really great wholesome, thrilling movie with fast cars. What more can you ask for?
