Hillbilly Elegy

Hillbilly Elegy ★½

i actually thought this movie started off pretty well then it just dried off till the end. it was saved by amy adams, glenn close’s acting and hans zimmer’s score as it was a movie that was really going nowhere. it was filled of unlikeable characters and it gives a bad message that just because of poverty, it’s supposed to justify their bad decisions. the whole movie, you were looking for some sort of redemption but they just ended up doing the same thing again; it felt like an endless cycle. it’s good JD learned to accept his roots and become successful despite his troubled past. i guess another lesson is your response to the good and bad memories will truly help shape who you are.
