Warren Gilbert’s review published on Letterboxd:
Jason....err I mean Jackson is your typical hockey masked serial killer going around murdering, but he begins questioning himself and then he ends up falling in love with a blind woman who loves him for who she thinks he is and not his ugly deformed face. Unmasked Part 25 aka The Hand of Death is basically a relationship drama bookended by a slasher movie and it's a bit of a mixed bag. On one hand we have the slasher elements including an amazingly cheesy face and heart rip in the opening and some solidly gory fun also highlighted by a kill using a lamp, but on the other we have too much bland relationship drama and utterly boring characters. The romance has a lot of similarities to the one in The Toxic Avenger that released 5 years earlier. There are also some fun jokes and references mixed in, especially Jackson's backstory which is basically the same as the one for Jason Voorhees. It's nice to see somebody trying something different with the slasher formula, it's just disappointing the dramatic elements couldn't be a little more interesting. Still worthwhile for slasher fans for the gory kills alone.
