    Escape Room 2019

Escape Room is another movie in which you gotta solve the clues or die. Though I'd been pretty sceptical it was fairly enjoyable.
The actors were mediocre but the writing and design and cinematographical work were good. It was worth watching.

Peter Segal’s romantic comedy starring Jennifer Lopez as a long-serving shop worker who decides to forge a college degree to get a high-powered job in a cosmetics firm. Also starring Leah Remini.

The story concerns a woman with little informative experience but plenty of street smarts, who secures a career in a corporate business after a pal makes a bogus profile for her. She is now forced to live the fib compellingly.

Jennifer Lopez gives a respectable performance in her…

I usually love a good tightly paced, under 90 minute thriller so it sucks to write that Lakewood just didn't do much for me. It starts off really strong but it loses steam about halfway through and ends very poorly. The first half is pretty gripping and intense but it turns into an implausible, melodramatic and overall tasteless thriller in the second half. Naomi Watts gives it her all and is unsurprisingly great but there's only so much she can…

Prey is the best Predator movie in 32 years! - (yes, I like Predator 2, deal with it!). Amber Midthunder is awesome, she deserves to become a big star! Dan Trachtenberg continues to impress.

I really wish we had been given a chance to see this in a theater. Dumping this straight to streaming is such a waste!

Ideas for the next Predator movies:
    Predator vs. Roman Legion
    Predator vs. Vikings
Predator vs. The Knights of the Round Table
    ... the possibilities are endless.

Finally, a new Predator movie worth watching. I watched the Comanche Version, as I have AC blasting in my place, so figured reading subtitles would at least allow me to know what is going on without missing hearing something.
I admit I was hesitant going into this, as I thought the idea was fairly lame, but they did the idea very well and the acting from everyone involved was excellent.
It was actually tense and creative. I liked the look…

Prey rules so hard. This is how you do a prequel in every way possible and on its own, it’s just a fun and raw as hell film with stunningly gorgeous cinematography, brutal and creatively gorey action sequences, fantastic representation of the Comanche nation, and a kickass Predator design that feels familiar but different all the same. Dan Trachtenberg has crafted the best Predator film ever made in my eyes honestly. I love the 1987 original classic, but this, this…

It's such a shame that Prey went straight to streaming, because it's a real fucking movie that deserves the theatrical experience. Watching it with the Comanche dub is such a thrill. This is far from the unsettling sensations of the original work and John McTiernan's classic flourish, but director Dan Trachtenberg is eager to show off with a grab-bag of modern visual ideas and sturdy action choreography, and it aligns perfectly with the survivalist sensibility of the first film.…

Has some tonal inconsistencies, but god damn is Zoey Deutch just an absolute tour de force in this wildly entertaining dark comedy. Jai Courtney & Judy Greer also give two of their best performances here too.

    ★★★★½ Watched by willmoviefan97 06 Aug 2022

Black Bird is yet another fantastic series from Apple TV+. A slow burn, but one that very much always remains deeply engrossing and unsettling. Taron Edgerton turns in yet another utterly fantastic performance that easily ranks up there with Rocketman as a career best turn. And Paul Walter Hauser is every bit as outstanding alongside Edgerton. Hauer perfectly conveys his usual charm in many moments, but is able to flawlessly turn on a dime and be geuinuely frightening with this…
