I can't believe myself that around 10 years ago I used to skip this film when I went on a Harry Potter marathon, thinking it just wasn't important or maybe 10 year old me didn't like the tonal shift it took from the previous movies.
But holy fuck, was bringing Cuarón to direct this the best decision WB has ever made. I mean EVERYTHING, literally everything just oozes GENIUS filmmaking.
1. Entering and leaving a scene through a MIRROR in which the kids face their INNER fears?
2. Keeping the camera constantly moving in a movie about a dangerous man on the loose? Not even gonna mention the mesmerising long takes.
3. Isolating Harry in every way possible to deeper the themes?
4. BRILLIANT foreshadowing
Ahhh I love this!
