mostly listened to this while crocheting but i am losing my mind. i loved this movie so much as a kid and i realized this time its all the same romcom beats but btw a dad and a daughter and i mean that literally it's also cinderella but like...they took it further 😩 my true loss of innocence

let me be reductive and say watching this really unlocked why Moomins are so popular in Japan because they have the same sensibility as Miyazaki movies (perfect balance of spooky and whimsy, looking at the world through child's eyes but also with ancient wisdom) and one last thing i love that little chicken foot bitch Ponyo!!!
