pretty watchable, I guess, but whatever.
the bad version of SE7EN. it's the thing that happens when Jargon™ goes wrong, and the movie attempts to speak subtextually about California and religion and greed and parenthood and succeeds in none of it.
the casting director should be fired for putting Rami Malek in this movie. I don't think he's a bad actor but he is far too weird to play a straight-shooter cop with a church life and two daughters (or Freddie Mercury, for that matter). I mean, totally missed the mark. not to mention he actually takes away from some of the campiness of Leto's weirdo vibe.
