I showed this to my 7th and 8th grade study hall on the final two days of school. They were angry that it wasn't Charlie and the Chocolate Factory. I informed them that the two movies were very different, and in my personal opinion the original was far superior to the remake. They disagreed claiming that Johnny Depp was a much better actor than "the weird dude in this one."

Let me make something perfectly clear. In no way, shape, or form was Johnny Depp's interpretation of Willy Wonka better than Gene Wilder's. No way. No shape. No form. Even making the claim should be punishable by MPA law. Charlie and the Chocolate Factory is high on the list of remakes that should have never been made.

Several kids at the end of the film stated that they "hated the movie."

I think I might hate them.
