I went into this a bit tired, which probably impacted my thoughts, as the pacing is a bit of a drag. That said, Stewart, who will absolutely be nominated for an Oscar, leads a compelling vision of a borderline on the edge. The use of 16mm film and medium shots add to the dreamlike quality of the project, placing us in the head of Diana as her maladaptive defense mechanisms fail to keep her safe from the everyday horror of a royal Christmas.
