Fear Street: 1666

Fear Street: 1666 ★★½

The actual 1666 plotline is easily one of my favourite parts of the whole trilogy - setting aside, you know, the actual performances and horrible accents. The whole cast is back, this time playing Christian pilgrims, and once again solidifying that religion ruined everything for everybody and was a terrible invention.
The actual origins of the curse that's been teased through the other movies are finally revealed and it's worth the build-up. Absolutely solid shit all things considered. Although seeing that The VVitch is one of my favourite movies ever, I might be a little biased by anything that tries to convey similar vibes.
Unfortunately, that's only half the movie. And the other half is just 1994 2: Electric Boogaloo. I get they had to wrap up everything and all that jazz, but I still couldn't help but be disappointed by it overall. Coming off what was possibly the most mature piece of the story and diving right back into shit like "Goode is evil" is jarring, to say the least.
I think I've come to the conclusion that this trilogy was just not for me, and that's fine. More power to anybody who enjoyed it. I had a fine enough time with it as a whole and there were some good moments in every movie, but I'll never watch it again.
