Horse Girl

Horse Girl ★★★★★

Horse Girl is the experience of being a young person in the modern age, not being able to deal with it and transcending to a euphoric/utopian place where your grievances are now your guiding light. Issues of age, relationships, time and the external experience are all put centre focus here. An absolute masterstroke of subtlety and poignancy. Alison Brie does a phenomenal job quickly becoming one of my favourite performances period. Almost everything about this film I can relate to, the nuances in Alison Bries performance is so palpable that I feel like I am looking at myself in the mirror. This film is one of the most beautiful things I have ever seen in my life. I can't say enough positives about this and I am deeply sad this has gotten such a lukewarm reception. Someday this will get the reappraisal it deserves, mark my words.
