Rewatching this made me appreciate this film even more. I already knew it was a masterpiece but now I realise how challenging this film was to make. To have two storylines playing simultaneously and both be equally as interesting is quite incredible and no film does it better than this one. The directly contrasting stories of Michael and Vito give this film an extra depth over the first one for me. It may be unpopular but for me Part 2 edges Part 1 because of this, although both films are deserving of their reputation as undebatable masterpieces of American cinema.
