Upon first viewing I found this hard to fully digest, but after this rewatch I can confirm that although I still slightly prefer 2049, this is a masterpiece in its own right. The themes it tackles are spectacular alone. Vangelis’ score may be the most influential I’ve ever heard and every sci-fi film since owes a lot to this film in the way they sound, look and create their worlds. A breathtaking film in all respects that I’m sure I’ll love more every time I see it.
