So, thematically this wholeheartedly does nothing unique for the genre, and that's fine; its story really is the least interesting aspect. What does stand out, however, is the great ensemble cast and countless over-the-top performances, witty one-liners, and sheer corniness of it all.
I'd say its first hour is more engrossing than its second, and I'm not so sure I cared for the two little montages of Wyatt Earp and Co. wiping out the last of the cowboys at the end, but whatever.
It's fun, doesn't really seem to ever take itself too seriously (its emotional beats don't ever really land all that well), and the plethora of mustaches are to die for, honestly.
