  • Just Mercy

    Just Mercy

    ★★★★

Top performances all round here, from the stars and the supporting cast alike. This is a true story of injustice that’s very realistic and never goes OTT in any way. You have some great characters and it’s story that is so deserving of telling. It’s a film that packs a huge emotional punch. It’s intelligent and inspiring and extremely well written

  • Riders of Justice

    Riders of Justice

    ★★★★½

I loved this movie. I’d never heard of it, but once I saw Mads Mikkelson was in, I wanted to see it. Their are few movies which can marry together all the different genres and make it work. This balances tragedy, comedy, drama, relationships, family and action perfectly. It’s brilliantly acted by the whole cast. The script is brilliant and the movie has a feel to it unlike many others. It’s emotionally hard hitting and smart. You don’t want to miss this gem

  • Memory

    Memory

Im a huge Liam Neeson fan and a Martin Campbell fan, so I can’t explain how disappointed I was with this. Campbell directed such movies as Goldeneye, Casino Royale and The Foreigner and Neeson is a class actor, but this missed the mark in every single way. Theirs a good supporting cast too but the plot is poor, and the script is worse and the movie drags like mad. It’s sad to see so many talented people involved in this rubbish

  • The Equalizer 3

    The Equalizer 3

    ★★★½

This was a pleasant surprise as I watched the first two movies and wasn’t impressed. I love Denzel but the first movie was just average  and the second movie was awful in my opinion. But I actually really enjoyed this. This movie has a nice feel and atmosphere to it. Of course Denzel is always great, and theirs a decent supporting cast. The script is decent and the plot is better than the first two movies. It’s still ludicrous, but when it’s made this well, it’s hard to resist

  • Tenet

    Tenet

    ★★½

I’m a big Chris Nolan movie. I loved the Batman trilogy, Memento and Inception, but this wasn’t for me. Washington and Pattison are very good together, and Branagh is terrific as the villain. Theirs some great scenes and I enjoyed the first hour, but after that I lost the thread altogether and I was lost. Theirs some great action scenes and beautiful locations, and it’s well written, but it’s way too long and the plot was just too complicated for me

  • Old Dads

    Old Dads

    ½

    SPOILER FREE

Unfortunately, this is a wasted opportunity. The 3 leads of Chappell, Burr and Carnavale are all talented, but with a script this bad, even they can’t save this. Theirs loads of swearing but barely any laughs. The biggest problem is Burr isn’t likeable at al here. He plays it like a rageaholic moron who has no charm whatsoever. The movie is too vicious to be likeable and actually the 3 main characters seem like complete jerks. It’s a good idea to try the generational gap thing, but the execution is dire and offensive

  • John Wick: Chapter 4

    John Wick: Chapter 4

    ★★★

    SPOILER FREE

I’m not the biggest fan of the John Wick franchise, but I thought this was an improvement on the first three movies. I like Keanu Reeves, but in my opinion, he’s a pretty terrible actor, but he is incredible at fight choreography. The plus points here is that the movie has incredible locations, and stunning fight scenes, car chases and all manner of action, and Donnie Yen is a great addition. The minuses here are it’s way too long, and as great as the action is, it gets a bit repetitive

  • Mission: Impossible – Dead Reckoning Part One

Mission: Impossible – Dead Reckoning Part One

    ★★★★½

    SPOILER FREE

I’ve watched all the Mission movies but i always thought they were overrated, but I gotta say I really enjoyed this. It’s really well made with incredible locations, truly amazing action scenes, and a plot and script that’s top notch. It actually even at a running time of  2hrs 45 min, it never gets dull, and Hailee Atwell is a great addition to the franchise. She’s sexy, smart and has great chemistry with Cruise. This is truly a classic action movie

  • Meg 2: The Trench

    Meg 2: The Trench

    ★★★

This is a strange review, because the first hour of the movie is basically spent underwater, and it was incredibly boring to me. But, as soon as the movies comes ashore, it is amazing. The action is relentless and breathtaking. It’s actually really funny and theirs some snappy one liners and Statham is always likeable. It’s simple enough entertainment, that bored me in the first half, but delighted me in the second half

  • The Flash

    The Flash

    ★★

    SPOILER FREE

The Flash is a strange movie in a lot of ways. I give it some credit for trying new ideas, but overall it doesn’t really work. Theirs a breathtaking first 20 mins and Ezra Miller is decent enough, and it’s nice to see Keaton back as Batman. The action scenes are truly incredible, but the movies pacing is way off, and it’s poorly written. It’s also way too long, and by the end it feels like a slog

  • No Hard Feelings

    No Hard Feelings

    ★★★

    SPOILER FREE

Jennifer Lawrence is in top form here, having a great time spoofing herself and Andrew Barth Feldman is good as the shy but very intelligent teenager. The movie starts off well, but loses some of its pace in the second half. Theirs some good one liners and a bit of meaning too. Overall, it’s decent but forgettable

  • Indiana Jones and the Dial of Destiny

Indiana Jones and the Dial of Destiny

    ½

    SPOILER FREE

I almost feel it is my duty as an Indiana Jones fan to review this, just to stop any other Indiana fans from watching it. The whole movie is one massive mess. At nearly 3 hrs long, it could have shaved 45 mins off easily. I love Harrison Ford but he’s just way too old. The  films first 10 mins gave me hope this might be good, but  the more the movie went on the worse it became.…
