  • The Evil Dead

    The Evil Dead

No character building. No convoluted bullshit plotlines. The Evil Dead is nothing but straight up fun and gore. I have seen the remake way way back, so over-the-top campy nature of this movie just makes it funnier to me. It might not age very well but hey concept of the movie itself is so ridiculous I still get a kick out of watching it.

Turn off your analytical side of the brain and enjoy.

  • Guillermo del Toro's Pinocchio

    Guillermo del Toro's Pinocchio

Pinocchio is a perfect story to teach children about morals. Disney nailed it so hard with their adaptation in 1940, no other Pinocchio movies could follow up to its hype. While Disney’s Pinocchio still remains as definitive version for me, Guillermo Del Toro’s version came very close and live up to it. Although last year’s Nightmare Alley seems lazy and lackluster for me despite its great sets and cinematography, Guillermo really delivered this time with Pinocchio. The stop-motion animation is spectacular, to…

    The Matrix Resurrections

When this movie was announced, everyone agreed there is no need for another Matrix movie. Still, we were excited to see what Wachowski sisters have in their hands. Resurrection finally came out and I chose to pretend it doesn't exist. I revisited the trilogy a few days ago and fell back into the rabbit hole of discussion threads again. If there is one thing I hate seeing more than anything in those threads, it has to be people who dismiss…

    Bullet Train

This is the Guy Ritchie-esque film I've been thriving since Snatch. Although it's basic as fuck, it delivers very fun experience. I felt happiness while watching it.

(Paperboi spittin' Thomas the Tank Engine lore is the funniest thing I've seen in a while.)

  • Jujutsu Kaisen 0

    Jujutsu Kaisen 0

Jujutsu Kaisen is peak shounen for me at the moment. The movie has a very simple yet well-constructed plotline. Character writing is brilliant as usual. It's so refreshing to see well-written female in Japanese animation. Maki has to belong to one of my favourite side characters. They even explore the characters we already knew before (in a very good way). Animation done by MAPPA is another out of body experience. Real sakuga shit. All and all, it's a solid movie everyone put efforts into every minute detail.

0 is another W for Jujutsu Kaisen.
