Matthew Vallée’s review published on Letterboxd:
This movie was a big part of my childhood. The film is full of catchy songs and life lessons which are hilariously dark to watch now as an adult. I remember parts of the film used to scare me as a child, like the psychedelic boat ride through the tunnel, but mostly this movie is great lighthearted fun. Gene Wilder does a terrific job in the lead and plays the character as both whimsical and sarcastic which is endlessly entertaining to watch. Definitely one of the best kids movies, and still a great movie to watch all these years later.
