I saw this with a few friends and knew absolutely nothing about it going in. And I think that definitely helped. Some of the story beats here are asked to do a lot in order to keep the conflicts concerning since the characters themselves just aren’t that interesting. This movie uses the love triangle trope decently but two thirds of that triangle are super vanilla, throw away characters. It’s really the main character, her story and her portrayal by Daisy Edgar-Jones that carries the film. 

Feels like a decent young adult film adaptation/10
