The first 5 ⭐️ rating I’ve given all year and it was fucking worth it. ‘Spider-Man: Across the Spider-Verse’ surpasses the original and becomes not only the greatest comic book movie of all time, but one of the greatest animated movies of all time.

The second Guy Ritchie movie to come out this year, ‘The Covenant’ is easily the best of the two. Not only that, but I actually think this is a better movie than ‘The Gentlemen’

This movie feels like less of a Guy Ritchie movie than pretty much any of his others. Where I criticised ‘Operation Fortune: Ruse de Guerre’ for its style-over-substance approach, here Ritchie heavily focuses on the drama and that overly-stylised format that we’ve come to know…

I don’t care. This wasn’t good. There’s no subtlety, it’s one note, there’s a complete lack of depth, and McKay likes to deflect any criticism and say that if you don’t like this movie then you’re politically incorrect. Nah bro, you just made a bad movie and can’t own up to it.

As a movie, Fatherhood is very average. It takes no risks and it’s very easy to see each beat that it hits coming. That being said, Kevin Hart is surprisingly strong. I don’t think he’s had the best of luck when it comes to the quality of his movies, but here he showed that he is capable of giving a good dramatic performance. So while the movie itself isn’t anything new or particularly interesting, Hart really carries it and I’m happy to say that.

*I’ve never seen any Wes Anderson movies, so I’m watching one every week before ‘Asteroid City’ releases*

    10/10

Absolutely fantastic and by far my favourite live-action Wes Anderson movie so far. Hilarious, beautifully shot with so much colour and life. Ralph Fiennes is brilliant and plays probably my favourite Anderson character. Some of his lines actually had me crying with laughter. There’s so much energy and I had an absolute blast watching this. Highly recommend!

Not going to lie, I think this might be one of my personal favourite Scorsese’s

Captivating from start to finish, ‘The King of Comedy’ is clever and honest. De Niro is excellent at playing this mentally unstable individual, but manages to make him almost sympathetic. I was watching what he did and very well aware that what he did was wrong, but I couldn’t help but feel for him, and that is the sign of some exceptional writing, direction, and acting.
