The Godfather: Part II

The Godfather: Part II ★★★★½

While I continue to find the original Godfather incredibly entertaining in addition to being a rich text, Part II is a denser, more complex affair that commands my respect if not the same level of adoration. Still, it feels like a necessary story of how Vito succeeded while Michael ultimately fails—he’s left the king of a hollow kingdom, completely alone after obliterating his family because his transactional worldview only allows him to see enemies.
