The Handmaiden is revelatory. Every frame is pristine and the camerawork so effortlessly fluid. It's perfectly paced; novelistic yet never exhausting, as dark as it is funny, intensely erotic and shocking, and ever a step ahead. I won't do it the disservice of revealing any plot details. I can honestly say I've never seen anything like it, and it's a truly original tale that constantly reshapes itself. Give it all the awards.
