“You know what? I'm just gonna put dirt in my ears. Ow... That's better. I can't hear you now, but keep talking.”
We need more great Roald Dahl adaptions.
With all the amazing characters of Roald Dahl’s bibliography it’s outstanding how few good adaptations we’ve gotten. To me Fantastic Mr. Fox is the only great one. But there’s some objectively good ones like: Willy Wonka & The Chocolate Factory (1971), The Gremlins (1984), Matilda (1996) and from what I’ve heard James and the Giant Peach (1996).
Just strange how there’s hasn’t been a movie about Danny The Champion of the World or my personal favorite Uncle Oswald, which till this day is my favorite book. How amazing wouldn’t a Wes Anderson stop-motion of The Twits be? It’s raunchy and weird enough to be enjoyed by both adults and children and the story fits his direction perfectly! We need some good animation now, the genre has been filled with garbage recently, every storyline is the same and they all looks the same, and always made for the lowest common denominator.
