A few years ago, when I first saw this movie, the strongest impression that it left me was how much of an anticlimatic ending it had.

Now, after watching it again, I’m still left with that same feeling. If the first entry appeared as a barely interesting story, mostly because it intrigued us by subverting the perspectives between victims and perpetrators/villains, this second movie, not only does it not have anything to say, but it also clings desperately to a mostly gratuitous violence as a way to capture our attention.

Which, obviously, doesn’t work at all.
