An overlong joke that never was humorous to begin with. Feeling a bit tricked at the moment, considering how long I’ve been meaning to see this. It’s monotonous nature unnecessarily elongated the already stretched out experience, enhancing my disengagement. Actually, now that I come to think of it, there was one funny part, and that would be the very end of each episode where Lars von Trier himself would try to explain the meaning of the episode. Almost to convince the viewer that what they had just seen had a deeper poetic and existential meaning. When in reality it’s just a blabbering mess with irritable characters. Maybe that’s exactly the point, but personally I’m not for it. Sorry.
