Probably Kevin Smith's best film? I don't know, even though it still had that staged, everyone talks in the same voice feeling, it still felt far more emotionally honest and interesting than anything else he's done. I found Ben Affleck and Joey Lauren Adams incredibly annoying to start with but they grew on me. Also I miss the scrappy, indie (16mm?) look of the '90s, when the lighting wasn't quite Hollywood perfect but it had a distinct charm.
