"I'm Mary Poppins, y'all!" one minute later, "My nipplllllllllllllllessss!!"
We were accidentally VERY drunk for this film yet I don't think my opinion would have differed otherwise...time will tell. The resounding aspect I want to celebrate here is how this film is a gateway for general audiences to experience something other than "a mall movie", because Guardians IS packaged and marketed like a mall movie, but it contains situations that these people have rarely seen before.
It gets weird, it uses off brand music, it's hilarious and then incredibly crude and sad. And as for the mall movie packaging, I'm bothered by it, I won't lie. It seemed to jump cut to the next scene where most films would continue dialogue, I was a little confused about the timeline until I retraced scenes from the film. They took the rollercoaster route, meant to distract you from the flaws it has, and it worked...but I still know they're there.
TLTR, I'm cool with the problems Vol. 2 has, because there's really nothing else like this franchise and I'm overjoyed that it exists.
