How did you like the chocolate factory, Charlie?
I grew up watching Charlie and the Chocolate Factory –yes, the Tim Burton version– and I've always really liked it. So Willy Wonka & the Chocolate Factory was a movie I always wanted to check out. And also, as the big fan of movie theories I am, I've always liked to read all the theories about this characters and the movies about this chaotic chocolate maker.
I was really invested in this movie from the start. Gene Wilder's Wonka is as eccentric, charming and loveable as crazy and terrifying. Like, his entrance is so iconic and how he greets the children when they're entering the factory, and there's something about his voice that makes everything so much more exciting.
Willy Wonka & the Chocolate Factory is a really funny and nice movie with catchy songs on its surface, but below that it's really dark. I mean, you can't contradict me when I say those kids died.
