Gone Girl

Gone Girl ★★★★★

What are you thinking? How are you feeling? What have we done to each other? What will we do?

This is the movie that counselors should show at the marriage's therapies.

Amy Dunne is the most terrifying villain out there in my opinion. She's a cold manipulator and a psychopath, and the fact that I was rooting for her to win is the proof that this movie is wild. The wonderful performance by Rosamund Pike, Amy, is the embodiment of revenge, determination, commitment and obsession.

The script (written by the same person who wrote the original novel, Gillian Flynn) is superb. I love all the twists and turns this story has, even on a rewatch, the plot twist and the suspense still holds up and causes me a lot of tension.

Also, I love the beginning and the ending scenes. At first, we hear Nick saying a monologue that makes us feels something is off, is creepy and scary. But at the end, in an almost identical recreation of the opening shot, we know the story of this marriage and we understand what secrets and darkness hide these two.

In my opinion, Gone Girl is one of the best thrillers of the decade.
