Soul 2020
If you've been watching Graham Norton interviews and Big Fat Quiz clips to get through quarantine then boy do I have the movie for you. Ah to be gently guided into life by a calm Richard Ayoade and awoken spiritually by a hippie pirate Graham Norton. What a nice little movie. God I miss people.
P.s. I would like to be scooped up and ride in the Jerry blob. I think this would be both the best and most existential ride at Disney so it will never happen but I want it.

Wonder Woman 1984 2020
I just read a review that said "I can't believe this was about a magic rock that grants wishes" which is fair I mean what's next, a magic glove that holds *six* magic rocks that grant wishes? Unrealistic.

Spider-Man 2 2004
The strength of this movie doesn't lie in Raimi's comedic sensibilities. Or Alfred Molinas' gravitas. Or even the train fight. Spider-Man 2 works because it slows wayyyy down and gives Rosemary Harris 5 quiet minutes. And she tells us what it means to be brave. "There's a hero in all of us" should be the corniest line in cinema. But her and the swelling score? Unmatched. Try to picture it in any other movie. *That* is what no other superhero movie has managed to top.

Thor: The Dark World 2013
Watching this movie is like showing pictures of your crush when like 60% of their pictures are just okay and you're like no I promise he's cute wait wait hold on he's gonna put the hammer on a coat rack it's great. But ok real talk it's good and I hope Hiddleston got extra compensation for his back which I'm sure hurts from carrying this movie.

The Addams Family 1991
This movie doesn't have much of a plot so much as it has Anjelica Huston's bone structure and that's ok

Mary Shelley's Frankenstein 1994
You gotta admire Kennys dedication to the art of subtlety. Honestly such a fun wild watch. It made me want to re-read the book. Helena has maybe the best breakup/stage exit ever put to screen. And I spent two hours cackling, screaming, and riffing De Niro/Frankenstein bits. What a ride.
