Blade Runner

Blade Runner ★★★★★

1982 In Review - June
#12

A blade runner must pursue and terminate four replicants who stole a ship in space, and have returned to Earth to find their creator.

Blade runner is a dark and uncompromising science fiction and cyberpunk classic. Heavily derided upon release it is now rightly seen as one of the best sconce fiction films ever made. Inspirational and iconic, dark and brooding with a haunting musical score by Vangelis that adds a hypnotic quality to the breathtaking megacity landscapes of future Los Angeles.
Ridley Scott's adaptation of Philip K. Dick's post-apocalyptic bounty hunter story 'Do Androids Dream Of Electric Sheep' is a visionary work of art.
I don’t think the people from 1982 were quite ready for a film as visionary as this one, it’s a movie years ahead of its time.
