I can't believe it took me till now to finally watch this. Wow.
It's a classic timeless tale of unknowing the future and not going anywhere. I just graduated high school and I completely connect to everything. Besides the affair with the beautiful Mrs Robinson. The use of telephoto lenses and long pans really give a sense of going nowhere. Brilliant brilliant brilliant camerawork. I also couldn't believe how satirical this movie is too. Very interesting points come across about sex and marriage.
It's a movie that will stand the test of time. 45 + years later and it is still very relevant. The acting is smart and shy, the Simon and Garfunkel tracks fit so nonchalantly, and the direction by Mike Nichols is outstanding.
It is the Risky Business of the 1960s.
