Infinitely a better film from the first - technically & otherwise. I still have the same issue(s) I have with the first film; the story is yearning for a more nuanced understanding of colonial calamity that an indigenous person would have, it would serve the narrative wonders as it is often impaired by Cameron's "outsider looking in" perspective that it at times felt like it was captivated by its violence.

Cameron works hard to stoke or ignite a visceral contempt towards…

I'm in love with Zhao's sensibilities and technique(s) as a storyteller and I've been rather curious (to say the least) about how she was going to guide them into a blockbuster, cause it's truly anomalous for an MCU/Disney project to be attached to someone of her renown and have their creativity/vision be truly nurtured and nourished, it's an odd pairing and I loved it.

My brain simply can't rationalize this genre of storytelling, it isn't nearly nuanced enough to justify itself nor is it offering up a compelling perspective in exchange of the vulgarity and depravity...So what's the fucking point? It's not impossible to anatomize sexual trauma/violence without (A VERY OBVIOUS) ghoulish fascination towards it, Gregg Araki did it? Some of the shots in this film are ABSOLUTELY grounds for a child sexual exploitation investigation against the director & his DP, I'm so serious.

This review may contain spoilers. I can handle the truth.

What a load of shit. This is my biggest problem with this latest string of DC animated films - they disregard the source material to point of these adaptations being unrecognisable from their comic counterparts, and even that would be fine if these were intricately structured stories that are driven by character arc rather than plot.

The idea that explicitly depicted violence is an important element for mature, undraped and raw storytelling is a fallacy and this film proves that.…

Can you believe this film expects us to accept being temporarily transmuted into a goat as a fitting punishment for fucking genocide??? Then they have a wedding minutes after that deranged queen massacred an already fleeting population of fairies??? And...the Captain/General who was at the forefront of this massacre is now flirting with one of the fairies??? C'mon Disney...
