    Vengeance. Honor. Betrayal. Blood. Fire. Death.

    These are the words that epitomize the kind of story this movie is from start to finish. And without sounding anymore pretentious (which this movie is not), “The Northman” is a glorious, powerful film about a young prince seeking retribution to kill his uncle after murdering his father in cold blood.

    This is the kind of filmmaking that directors make fun of in horror spoofs/parodies (in fact one of the deaths in this movie felt like something out of the "Scary Movie" franchise), but is taken incredibly seriously. If Marlon Wayans from "A Haunted House" was in this movie, it would make a whole lot more sense.
