It took a long time for me to watch this movie because I wanted it to be the best experience ever and not just a movie that I would watch any which way. I watched this considering it’s a movie everybody loves, that has been extremely influential for almost 50 years, and that, most importantly, it’s considered one of the greatest movies of all time. My expectations were high.

Despite being almost 3 hours long, you barely get bored. The Godfather is so powerful principally because it has some of the greatest performances of all time and one of the greatest screenplays of all time. Although I know I definitely should have enjoyed it more, I also know that this is not the type of movie I love and that I was expecting so much more, principally in the end. Still, I think giving it 4 stars is fair considering how impactful and GREAT this is. Let’s see if part II will be even better!
