An analogy from my mind:  time lapse of a single vegetable with all its skin on which is slowly fading, moulding away, the stink and green and white mould spores engulfing the whole eventually.

‘You can never come back from that.’

Heart wrenching, pinching stuff here. I found myself picking at my nails, I hate doing this. But I found myself doing it when this was on screen.
The ONLY thing is I would have loved the smol donkey to…

Oh wow. Now this was a treat, such a scrummy, scrummy, scrumptious treat!

The storyline, the animation, the stop motion, MARY & MAX, their friendship, the hilarious & genuine banter they had throughout the whole film.... the portrayal of depression, anxiety and mental health as a whole was so raw and wonderful, so honest & untouched, the way that life just takes you away from things & makes you wonder 'what if' scenarios.

This film is a little masterpiece. It deserves an island all…

The Japanese sure know how to do horror films. I have the chills.

The hand held found footage style of filming usually feels at least a little fake & cliche but I was hooked all the way through here. I believe it’s based on a true story ???! Which parts actually happened though?

The turn around with the ‘chant this or you will die’ mantra thrown in face of  us as the viewers was a good touch, I kinda felt it coming though. I shall be strong & not give in to the mind control- I WILL I WILL!!!

What a great production with a lovely young teen duo- the end result of a Film workshop for aspiring local filmmakers, set in Nairobi’s  biggest slum. With the idea to integrate and educate for inspiration and opportunities where there are few. This little gem is shot beautifully and has its own little charm, I feel touched after viewing. Hopefully Netflix will be a great platform for more people to see it, it deserves more recognition.

Note : I must admit, the wording of the synopsis doesn’t reallly do it justice, just watch it- it’s just under 60 minutes of your life which you won’t regret.

"My life is full, because I know that I am loved"

What a powerful quote from an extra powerful piece of film making.

I'm blown away by this. The feelings it envoked within me alone deserve 5 stars, respectively.

Hopkins was absolutely impeccable. His eyes ...... oh my HIS EYES, his eyes on their own just portrayed such intensity & emotion. I felt glued to them & couldn't look away. I wanted to wrap my arms around him & hug him tight.

Something just lit up inside me.

The realisation that we are all human. We all have similar wants and needs. We all feel.

Whenever I feel down or I'm having one of those days where I am constantly searching for something unknown, I'm going to watch this.
