Sorry to all the people who think the first one is better (it's still great ofc, and I sincerely do mean that), but the quality of Part II compared to Part I goes ⬆ZOOOOOOOOMMMMM⬆!!!
There's so much more to chew on here. The script was so engaging and beautifully complex (like a REALLY good game of chess). The characters were far more fleshed out here, especially Vito and Michael.
I loved seeing the differences and similarities between father and son. I loved getting to delve deep into the mind behind Michael's eyes, which can pierce right through your soul (seeing how his cold, calculated brain functions in increasingly intense and increasingly sad situations is just incredible). I loved the way they showed the love and eventual tragic downfall of the Corleone siblings. I loved basically everything about it!!
I don't need to say anything else because, I mean, c'mon. It's "The Godfather: Part II". It lived up to the hype tremendously and improved upon the first in every way. So so so good.
