“ why are you doing this?“ “Because you let me“ 

I think that this is an excellent commentary on polite culture. It shows us how far people are willing to push boundaries If you do not set them firmly. This was incredibly frustrating to watch because the characters were so weak and would rather be seen as “nice“ than to be seen as rude by one family in a different country. They continuously allow themselves to be in situations that I personally would not put myself in. However, I know a lot of people who have a hard time with saying no, and could easily be put in this situation. It’s a very uncomfortable, slow build, and I think it really is effective in its attempt at being disturbing in the end.
