    My favorite version of Dune so far? Yes, this includes the novel.

    Any adaptation of Herbert's text would necessarily add some humanity to the humans, and while I would have gone even further, I understand Villeneuve and Co wanted to keep a layer of alienness.

    The Harkonnen sure ain't funny in this version! There's some body horror stuff with them and the Sardaukar which really stretches the PG13.

    Shame that this is a PG-13 but as a one-woman showcase for Jessica Rothe it's pretty perfect. What a find, that one!

    Kinda funny that it took me halfway through the movie to realize Tree was becoming less of a bitch as a character arc but I thought she was perfectly reasonable and even kinda cool from the start.
