a movie where a woman in the 60’s gets taken advantage of when trying to start her music career and kills all the men who abused her is a WAY BETTER STAND ALONE CONCEPT. the double feature of the movie with ellie just watered that story down to me. 

i did like ellie and i loved the performance but the plot twists weren’t twists and the ending was so soft. the build up made me believe something crazy was gonna happen and then nothing really happened.
