    I’m struggling to believe this is a real film. Like an actual motion picture that I just watched for two hours. In most ways, the Russo Brothers’ latest affair is like watching a YouTube compilation of cut-scenes. The more I think about it, the less actual movie I can recall. This is made all the more weird when considering that when the Russo’s had the prime opportunity to leave the audience with that same sweet feeling practically every action blockbuster…

    It’s like the crew knew they had an amazing start and end to a film and just sacrificed the entire middle section to exposition just to make the ending hit harder. Funnily enough, the final third may have been even better without the long, standstill second act but it is what it is.

    Still one of the most iconic endings in film history.

    Never before has a war film shed so much light on what fear looks like. Whilst watching Dunkirk, I was shaking and tensing and looking away. Sometimes I was on the verge of tears for how proud I was to be a human being. If another film can do that, it will certainly deserve the same reception that Dunkirk got.

    Wow, what a beautiful film. I must say, I expected greatness, but never this... PTA has done it again, and if Day Lewis truly retires for good, what a note to end it on!

    Everything was pitch perfect in this movie, especially projected on film. The little nuances of the characters and scenery in addition to the beautiful score by Jonny Greenwood (Radiohead) made me feel euphoric, and heck, even a bit emotional.
